First and foremost, ALL Kenilworth residents and property owners are welcome and invited to participate in any and all Kenilworth Residents’ Association activities, regardless of the resident’s annual dues payment status.
So, why should residents pay dues if they can attend any event or activity KRA organizes?
The KRA incurs expenses associated with managing the organization and the events it sponsors. Membership dues offset KRA costs and help fund the treasury for the future. Payment of membership dues designates residents as ‘members in good standing’ (Bylaw language) and further qualifies residents to be eligible to serve on the KRA board. While dues are voluntary, collecting them has a direct impact on KRA’s Budget and whether events are handled as a ‘fundraisers’ or just for fun. For more information on KRA’s past expenses and current budget click on Financial Report under the About Us tab.
The KRA is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit and as such, any payments to KRA (dues or donations) are tax deductible. Annual dues are $15 per household. Payments can be made online from KRA’s website http://kenilworthresidents.org through PayPal after signing in or by mailing a check payable to KRA to: PO Box 7514, Asheville, NC. 28802.
The KRA fiscal year begins January 1 and ends December 31 each year. The KRA membership year starts in September, coinciding with our annual Section parties, and runs through August of the following year.
